Led by Jaime Gorbeña Yllera, the beginning of this period was turbulent, marked by the financial crisis that began in 2008 and the challenging circumstances that ultimately led to the bankruptcy of Isofotón.
Despite challenging circumstances, Bergé y Compañía managed to stabilize its financial situation, combining a growth strategy on one hand with a restructuring strategy on the other, with a focus on its two core businesses: automotive and logistics.

An early example of this is Bergé Auto’s strategic alliances with the Algeciras Group in 2018, which enabled entry into new European markets, including Finland, Switzerland, and Belgium. Bergé also formed partnerships with Gamesa in 2007, resulting in the establishment of CTL (dedicated to energy logistics), and with Gefco in 2019, forming a joint venture that became a leader in vehicle logistics in Spain.
As a consequence of the restructuring strategy, the tugboat division Reyser was sold in 2017 to P&O, a subsidiary of Dubai Ports, specializing in port services.
